TEMPORARY NOTICE – MARCH 8, 2023

WESTON ROAD ASSOCIATION:

With heavy rains forecasted, the WRA wants to remind everyone that it is the responsibility of ALL residents to monitor culverts and road conditions. There is no “WRA Road Crew”. The folks you saw during the last storm with chainsaws, shovels, and tractors were there on a voluntary basis.

If you see a clogged culvert and are physically able to clear it, PLEASE do so. If you are not physically able to clear it, call a neighbor that can. Do not assume that someone else is going to clear it.

As we witnessed during the last storm, clogged culverts can lead to road failures, and we ALL pay for repairs from our road dues. The more repairs, the more our road dues will increase. It behooves everyone to do their part as they are able. If you see something, do something!

Now, onto preparedness: I posted about propane and firewood already. Now is also a good time to get your laundry and grocery shopping done. Charge your electronics. If you don’t have one already consider getting a power bank/portable charger for your electronics. Target in Scotts Valley has many different kinds: https://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=power+bank&facetedValue=5zl7w&moveTo=product-list-grid

And as always, if you need assistance reach out to me or a neighbor. We are all in this together!
